Cappuccinos Italian Mondays Special

Doing Dinner – Cappuccinos Italian Mondays Special at East Rand Mall

What's the special: Italian Mondays - Any Pizza, Pasta or Stromboli
Price: R49
When is the special? Mondays Only
Restaurant: Cappuccinos East Rand Mall
Special rating: 6

We tried out the Italian Mondays special at Cappuccinos East Rand Mall where you pay R49 for any Pizza, Pasta or Stromboli. I chose the MUSSEL & PRAWN LINGUINI because I love seafood.

How was the food?

I was a bit disappointed when I ordered the Mussel & Prawn Linguini and they didn’t have any Linguini. So I replaced it with spaghetti. As you can see in the photo there weren’t many prawns or mussels on the dish. I think I got three prawns, 4 mussels, 3 pieces of calamari and a few tomatoes. The rest was dry spaghetti with no kind of sauce and the dish had this strange bitter taste to it. I guess you get what you pay for. But why have the special if the quality of the food isn’t that great.

The service

The service was a bit slow and the waiter got a few things wrong. One of the other people who dined with us also ordered the Mussel & Prawn Linguini but with penne pasta to replace the Linguini and got spaghetti. I had to ask three times for a glass with lemon and eventually got it without the lemon and the waiter didn’t look like she wanted to be there.

Overall experience

It feels like restaurants drop their prices by having weekday specials and then they drop the quality of the food as well which doesn’t make sense. I wonder how this dish would have tasted if I ordered it on a normal Saturday or any other day where I pay the normal price.

Please feel free to leave a comment about your experience.
